How I get ready for Fashion Week Australia
Fashion week is like Christmas for fashion bloggers. It’s a ritual for us. We make sure our calendars are free for the week. We do a lot of planning. And get lots of hugs and kisses when we gather with our family of other bloggers. We may even get some presents! Presents in the form of garments of course. But just like Christmas, there is a lot of planning for the festivities. Here is how I am getting ready for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia.
- Highlight all my favourite designers. I need to pick the runways I would love to go to and contact their PR to confirm that I can get a seat. Then hope for the invites to come flooding in. There is no way I can make every single show, so I need to prioritise my favourite designers.
- Organise and organise. The week will be a long and hectic one. So I need to be super organised and set out a timetable. Lots of things to think about. Will any of the shows overlap? Will there be time to do an outfit change? How many blog and social media posts will I be able to fit in?
- Pick out my outfits. I love fashion week as it is the best time to show your personal style. If I am lucky enough, before I attend a designer’s show, they will let me storm their showroom and pick out whatever I want to wear to their show. I need to make sure my outfits are all planned and ready, because it is a long week and certainly no time in the morning of a show to spend ages picking an outfit. This is my first Fashion Week with The Boy in the Black Bow Tie as a blogging duo, so we will need to co-ordinate our looks.
- Grab my camera, hail a taxi and get ready for the shows.
