Under my umbrella
I stand there under my umbrella. The raindrops land in a perfect circle around me. My hair is wet and sticks to my face and neck. The hem of my dress is damp from walking in the wet grass. And I wait for that perfect moment when the rain stops. That moment when everything around you has a sparkle and a glittering glaze. Where there is a scent of freshness in the air.
There is something interesting about my habits every time it rains. It prompts me to act differently. As I stand there holding my umbrella, I don’t have both my hands free. And so I don’t bother texting or listening to music. Instead, my mind remains free and open. For once, I actually look around and observe what is going on around me. I see colors, shapes and movements around me. It is as if I am finally seeing the world in color.
